CROPS joins Interreg LEAF to develop smart crop health sensors
CROPS participates in the innovative Interreg LEAF project. Within this project, Dutch and German partners will work together to develop smart sensor technology that enables growers to monitor the health of their crops in real time.
This type of technology addresses the growing need among growers for resilient cultivation strategies and for gaining faster and more accurate insights into substances (biomarkers) associated with plant health and plant resilience (resistance to diseases and pests), such as plant hormones and secondary metabolites.
Drawing on our practical expertise in resilient cultivation strategies and measurement methodologies, we contribute to the selection of relevant biomarkers and model crops, and we will validate the smart sensor in our research facilities. Throughout this process, we will work closely with end users to ensure that the sensor being developed is well aligned with the needs of the industry.
